PNW NExT Organizers Official Duties:

 

 

Director:

Oversee the NExT activities, serve as program chair for the meeting.

 

Associate Director:  

Recruitment and screening of fellows, officers and consultants, assist with overall planning of the section and with the program.

 

Two-Year College Liaison:

Look out for interests of the 2 year people, serve asACCESS  Liaison

 

Financial Coordinator:

Responsibilities of the financial coordinator like you mention below include reimbursing the new Fellows, and keeping track of the finances of the Project.

 

Special Interest Coordinator (aka Record Keeper, aka Data Head)

Construct and maintain a database of fellows and consultants with expertise/interests,  put together participants' list for meetings, be contact person for coordinating expertise of fellows (find appropriate people to speak on panels, generate ideas for meeting topics based on current interests of fellows).

 

Communication Director:

Oversee all communication including newsletter article, update web, listserv, advertise, invite  people to meeting.

 

Local Arrangement Coordinator:

Oversee the local arrangements for the NExT activities including reserving meeting rooms, providing directions, reserving hotel rooms, ordering catering, recommending lunch and dinner locations, reserving AV equipment etc.

 

 

Program Committee:

Plan the annual program, secure session organizers, assist organizers in finding speakers,

set the schedule, print and distribute the program, coordinate activities with the local arrangement and communication officers . (See guidelines for organizing a successful session for details and a timeline.)
