MATH FILM FESTIVAL April 17, 2007 - UC Theater - Schedule
The math film festival is part of the activites scheduled for
Mathematics Awareness Month.
This theme for 2007 was ....Mathematics and the Brain.
GAMBLING DAY Thursday, November 14, 2006, 3-5pm in Math 109 (Main orgainizer: Jed Mihalisin)
The math club sponsors a Gambling Day each fall. We usually have tables with
Black Jack (with a professional dealer), Texas Hold 'Em, Keno, and Craps.
In addition to the gambling there are lectures by statistics professors
on the probability of winning and the mathematics behind various betting
schemes. Players receive a fixed amount of math club money at the start.
Prizes are awarded based on the most dollars accumulated at the end of play.
Pictured are the dealers, croupiers, and gamblers from past years.
