The following events are on Thursday, 9 September 2004, unless specified otherwise.

These events are not exclusive to our student participants but are a subset of the events of the conference geared for student involvement.

• Undergraduate Presentations
  
  This year we have ten presentations from undergraduate and graduate students.  The student sessions run from 10:30 am until 3:15 pm on Thursday, 9 September. All talks are in the University Center Rooms 332, 333.
   
• Mathematics Colloquium
  
  The Mathematics Colloquium, "Groups and Graphs", will be presented by Prof. Brian Alspach, University of Regina, at 4:10 pm in the UC Theatre. This talk will be preceded by a short reception in the UC 3rd floor Theatre Lobby.
   
• Panel Discussion and Pizza Dinner
  
  Free Pizza! At 5:30 pm in MA 109, we invite our high school, undergraduate, and graduate student participants to join us for dinner and discussion. Our student attendees bring a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and we will draw on many of them in this session. This will be an opportunity to talk to students from various schools and get your questions answered about summer research programs, internships, graduate school, GREs, and life/classes at other schools. All are invited to attend, and we extend a special invitation to high school students and their teachers. A pizza dinner will follow. Please sign up in advance for the (free) pizza dinner, bigsky@mso.umt.edu.
   
• Public Lecture
  
  At 8:00 pm Dr. Brian Alspach will present the Public Lecture ,  "Mathematics and Poker". The entire community is invited to this general audience presentation. The lecture is in the University's Music Recital Hall.
   
• More Conference!
  
  The conference continues through noon Saturday, followed by a rafting trip that afternoon.  We certainly invite everyone to all conference events.
